About the role
We are growing and as a result we have a newly created role for a data analyst. Reporting into the CFO, this will be your chance to utilize your analytical abilities. This role will require someone who is proactive, self-motivated and have the ability to work well under pressure. You will be a excellent communicator who can communicate clearly and effectively with a wide range of people in all situations.
As the Investigative Accountant/Auditor, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the accuracy of our digital data such as time records, customer invoicing, job profitability, labour and plant utilisation to proactively identify and report on potential issues, monitor costs and resource utilisation against quoted jobs, and analyse this data and processes. Leveraging your expertise in financial analysis, systems auditing, and predictive analytics, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our invoicing accuracy, controlling costs, and optimising resource allocation, thereby contributing to the overall financial health and efficiency of InterGroup.
Your main responsibilities will be
- Utilising D365 to conduct meticulous systems checks, verifying data accuracy, and ensuring adherence to processes and business rules.
- Preparing comprehensive reports summarising findings from systems checks and predictive analytics, offering actionable recommendations to key stakeholders.
- Utilising predictive analytics tools to anticipate potential issues in invoicing processes in advance, enabling and recommending timely intervention and resolution.
- Generating comprehensive reports on invoicing accuracy, cost monitoring, and resource utilisation trends, providing actionable insights to management for decision-making.
- Cross-functional Collaboration between finance, operations, and project management to ensure alignment of processes, controls and responsibilities.

The technical stuff you'll need includes:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Advanced qualifications such as CA
- Extensive experience in financial analysis, auditing, and process improvement, with a focus on invoicing accuracy and cost control.
- Proficiency in utilising predictive analytics tools (such as Business Intelligence) and ERP systems (such as Dynamics 365) for data analysis and auditing purposes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to proactively identify issues and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to driving continuous improvement and achieving results.
