InterGroup is seeking a Night Shift Supervisor to lead our Wellington Infrastructure team, ensuring litter collection, street sweeping, and public space cleaning services are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard while the city sleeps.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll spend time supporting operations in the field, coordinating crews, and ensuring work is completed safely and on schedule.
About the Role
As Night Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing night shift operations across Wellington's infrastructure contracts. You'll lead a team of operators and drivers, coordinate daily activities, manage resources, and maintain strong safety and performance standards.
This role combines leadership, planning, and practical operational support. You'll be the key point of contact during the night shift, ensuring issues are resolved quickly and work is completed to client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise night shift operators and drivers
Coordinate litter collection, street sweeping, and public space cleaning activities
Allocate work and resources to meet operational requirements
Monitor service delivery and ensure work is completed to agreed standards
Conduct vehicle, equipment, and site safety checks
Support and coach team members to achieve high performance
Manage shift reporting, documentation, and client communication as required
Respond to operational issues and adjust plans to meet changing priorities
Promote and maintain a strong health, safety, and wellbeing culture
What We're Looking For
Proven experience leading frontline operational teams
Class 2 licence minimum (Class 4 advantageous)
Strong communication and organisational skills
Ability to make sound decisions and solve problems in a fast-paced environment
Commitment to safety and quality outcomes
Experience within infrastructure, transport, waste, civil, or related industries is highly regarded
Willingness to be hands-on and support operational activities when required
