Site Supervisor
We're looking for a hands-on Site Supervisor with leadership experience, a forklift licence, and the drive to help grow a new project from the ground up.
Are you a hands-on leader who enjoys building teams, solving problems, and being part of something from the ground up?
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Site Supervisor to help establish and grow a new division in Taupō. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a developing project, working closely with management, contractors, consultants, and regulatory stakeholders while leading day-to-day site operations.
This role is ideal for someone who can comfortably move between the field and the office – a practical leader who isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves and get involved when required.
About the Role
As Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing a new operation, leading a site team, ensuring compliance requirements are met, and supporting the successful development of the project as it grows.
You will work closely with environmental consultants and regulatory authorities on consent compliance and operational requirements while maintaining a safe, efficient, and productive site.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise daily operations.
Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing site team.
Coordinate site activities, contractors, and equipment.
Work alongside consultants and stakeholders on resource consent compliance and reporting requirements.
Monitor environmental and operational performance.
Promote and maintain a strong health and safety culture.
Assist with operational planning, site improvements, and business development initiatives.
Operate machinery and equipment as required.
Support the wider business with practical problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
Help shape and grow a new operation from the ground up.
What we are looking for
Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within waste management, civil construction, earthworks, quarrying, landfill operations, or a similar industry.
Strong people leadership skills and the ability to motivate and manage teams.
Experience working with compliance requirements, environmental regulations, or resource consents.
A practical, hands-on approach with a willingness to work both "on the tools" and on the business.
Strong communication and relationship management skills.
Good organisational and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of outcomes.
Forklift licence (essential).
Full New Zealand driver's licence.
If you're a proactive leader who enjoys balancing operational responsibilities with strategic thinking and wants to help build a successful operation, we'd love to hear from you.
