HSEQT Advisor
Bring your experience. Bring your energy. Bring your commitment to doing things safely and doing them well.
Get out from behind the desk. Get into the business.
At Intergroup, we’re proud to be New Zealand’s leading Infrastructure and Industrial business. Our people work in challenging environments across the country, delivering essential services for some of New Zealand’s biggest projects and industries.
We’re looking for an HSEQ Advisor who wants to be part of the action — someone who is just as comfortable in safety boots on site as they are reviewing systems and reports in the office.
This isn’t a sit-behind-the-desk safety role. You’ll be out in the business, building relationships, asking the right questions, identifying opportunities to improve, and working alongside our people and leaders to deliver strong HSEQ outcomes.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll work closely with operational teams and leaders across our sites to help make safety, quality and environmental performance part of the way we do business.
Your role will include:
Getting out across our sites to build relationships, understand the work and provide practical HSEQ support.
Conducting site inspections, audits and assurance activities, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.
Coaching and supporting leaders and teams to strengthen HSEQ performance.
Helping drive a genuine safety-first culture where everyone takes ownership.
Providing practical advice that works in the real world — not just on paper.
Supporting incident investigations, corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
Monitoring HSEQ performance, trends and compliance and helping teams turn insights into action.
Supporting the implementation and ongoing improvement of HSEQ systems, processes and initiatives.
Working collaboratively with our people to ensure quality and environmental responsibilities are understood and embedded into everyday work.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who is practical, approachable and confident. You’ll be someone who enjoys working with people, asking questions, solving problems and influencing positive change.
You’ll bring:
Experience in an HSEQ, Health & Safety, Quality or Environmental advisory role.
A good understanding of HSEQ legislation, systems and best practice.
Experience conducting audits, inspections and risk assessments.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
The confidence to challenge when something isn’t right and the judgement to know how to bring people with you.
A practical, solutions-focused approach.
The ability to work independently while partnering closely with operational teams.
A willingness to travel across our sites as required.
Most importantly, you’ll want to be out in the business. You’ll understand that great HSEQ outcomes come from working alongside people, understanding their challenges and helping them find better and safer ways to work.
Why Intergroup?
At Intergroup, Safety Matters. We believe HSEQ is everyone’s responsibility, and our advisors play a critical role in helping turn that belief into action.
You’ll have the opportunity to work across a diverse and fast-moving business, build strong relationships with our operational teams, and make a visible difference to how we work.
If you’re looking for a role where you can get out of the office, put your boots on and make a real impact, we’d love to hear from you.
Bring your experience. Bring your energy. Bring your commitment to doing things safely and doing them well.
