CLASS 1 DRIVER / OPERATOR – WELLINGTON
GET OUT AND GET STUCK IN.
We’re looking for a reliable Class 1 Driver / Operator to join our Wellington Infrastructure team, working as part of our litter bin collection crew.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll travel around Wellington supporting the bin run, collecting and replacing bins, handling rubbish and helping the crew keep the route moving.
There’s some driving involved, but this is primarily an active, physical role. You’ll spend most of your day out of the cab, working alongside the crew and getting stuck into the job.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Driving a Class 1 vehicle as part of the litter bin collection run
Collecting, emptying and replacing public litter bins
Handling rubbish and loading materials
Supporting the wider crew to keep the route running efficiently
Working across Wellington’s public spaces, streets and parks
Carrying out basic vehicle and equipment checks
Keeping vehicles and equipment clean and tidy
Working safely around traffic, pedestrians and the public
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
A current Class 1 driver's licence
A reliable and responsible approach to work
Physically fit and comfortable with manual work
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather
Happy doing repetitive physical work and getting stuck in
Good communication skills and a strong work ethic
A commitment to working safely
