Waste Supervisor

We’re on the lookout for a hands-on Waste Supervisor to join our Wellington team, processing hydro excavation waste through our waste plant while supporting safe, efficient, and compliant operations.
About the role
This is a practical, boots-on-the-ground role where you’ll be actively involved in processing waste and overseeing day-to-day plant activities.
You’ll work closely with customers, coordinate incoming waste loads, and ensure material is processed correctly and efficiently. Alongside hands-on plant operation, you’ll help maintain high safety and environmental standards while keeping workflows running smoothly.
Supervise and assist with processing hydro excavation waste
Operate and monitor plant equipment
Coordinate incoming loads and liaise directly with customers onsite
Ensure safe handling and compliant processing of waste streams
Maintain accurate records and documentation
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and workflow
Support health, safety, and environmental best practice
About you
We are looking for individuals who are:
Hands-on and practical, comfortable working in an operational plant environment
Experience in waste treatment, hydro excavation, or plant operations (preferred)
Strong communication skills and confident interacting with customers
Safety-focused with good problem-solving ability
Reliable, organised, and proactive
