Diesel Mechanic

We’re now looking for a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team and help keep our specialist fleet operating safely and efficiently.

About the role

This is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing our heavy diesel and specialist hydro excavation fleet.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Servicing and maintaining heavy diesel trucks and specialist equipment

• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults

• Carrying out preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing

• Ensuring all vehicles and equipment meet safety and compliance standards

• Supporting breakdown response and minimising downtime

• Completing accurate maintenance records and job documentation

• Working closely with operators and the wider operations team

What we’re looking for

• Minimum 1 year experience as a diesel mechanic

• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills

• Experience with heavy trucks, plant, or hydraulic systems preferred

• A strong commitment to health and safety

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Reliable, practical, and detail-focused approach

• Full NZ driver’s licence (Class 2/4/5 an advantage)
