We are looking for reliable and motivated drivers to operate specialist vehicles across the city during overnight shifts.
Shift Schedule
Tuesday to Saturday – 9:30 PM to 6:00 AM
About the Role
As a Night Shift Driver Operator, you'll operate specialist infrastructure vehicles including street sweepers and compactor trucks, helping maintain Wellington's streets, public spaces, and key infrastructure assets.
This is an active, hands-on role that combines driving with operational work. You'll work both independently and as part of a close-knit team to deliver essential services across the city.
Key Responsibilities
Operate compactor trucks, street sweepers, and other specialist vehicles
Complete scheduled cleaning and maintenance routes
Collect rubbish, debris, and litter from public areas
Conduct daily vehicle and equipment inspections
Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation
Follow all safety, traffic, and operational procedures
Represent InterGroup professionally while working in public spaces
What We're Looking For
Full Class 2 licence minimum (Class 4 advantageous)
Safe and confident driving skills
Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
Good physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors
Strong commitment to health and safety
Experience operating heavy vehicles or specialist equipment is preferred but not essential
