Class 4 Driver / Operator – Auckland
Drive It. Operate It. Get Stuck In.
InterGroup is looking for an experienced Class 4 Driver / Operator to join our Auckland Infrastructure team.
This is a hands-on role operating specialist Class 4 vacuum, hydro excavation, and catchpit trucks across Auckland. You'll spend plenty of time operating the equipment, working alongside the crew, and getting involved in the physical side of the job — not just sitting behind the wheel.
If you're a confident Class 4 driver who enjoys operating specialist equipment and wants a role with variety, we'd like to hear from you.
About the Role
You'll operate a range of Class 4 specialist vehicles across catchpit cleaning, vacuum loading, hydro excavation, and other infrastructure activities.
The role involves a combination of vehicle operation, equipment operation, and manual work. You'll work across different sites and projects throughout Auckland, often working alongside a small crew to get the job completed safely and efficiently.
Training on our specialist equipment can be provided for the right person.
What You'll Be Doing
Drive and operate Class 4 vacuum, hydro excavation, and catchpit trucks
Operate vacuum, water blasting, suction, and associated equipment
Carry out catchpit and drainage maintenance
Assist with hydro excavation and vacuum loading activities
Complete equipment set-up, pack-down, and basic maintenance checks
Carry out manual work as required to complete each job
Complete daily vehicle and equipment inspections
Follow all health and safety and site requirements
Complete job records and documentation
Work as part of a team across a variety of Auckland sites
What We're Looking For
You'll have:
A full Class 4 driver's licence
Experience operating heavy vehicles
Good physical fitness and willingness to undertake manual work
A reliable attitude and strong work ethic
A practical approach and willingness to learn
A strong commitment to health and safety
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience with vacuum trucks, hydro excavation, catchpit cleaning, drainage, or other specialist equipment would be advantageous, but isn't essential.
