About the role
We’re seeking a commercially astute, hands-on Operations Manager to lead our Infrastructure Division in Hamilton. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in the operational detail, is comfortable managing P&L, and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and work alongside their team to get the job done.
You will take full ownership of day-to-day operations, contract performance, and financial outcomes across the branch portfolio. Leading a team of driver operators and CCTV operators, you’ll balance operational delivery with commercial accountability, ensuring services are delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably.
This is a fast-paced, operational role requiring strong prioritisation skills and the ability to juggle competing demands while keeping teams motivated and focused.
Key Responsibilities
Full operational and financial accountability, including P&L management
Deliver infrastructure contracts to agreed service levels, budgets, and timelines
Lead, coach, and support driver operators and CCTV operators in the field
Be visible and hands-on in daily operations when required
Manage rostering, resourcing, and fleet/equipment utilisation
Build and maintain strong client relationships and handle operational issues
Drive productivity, cost control, and continuous improvement initiatives
Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality, and regulatory standards
About You
Proven experience in an operational management role within infrastructure, utilities, or similar field-based services
Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated P&L responsibility
A practical, down-to-earth leadership style with the ability to lead from the front
Comfortable working in a dynamic environment and managing multiple priorities
Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and communication skills
Experience leading driver-based or technical operational teams is highly regarded
