CCTV Trainee – Wellington
Get Into a Specialist Career Underground
Ever wondered who keeps New Zealand's underground infrastructure running smoothly? That's us.
At InterGroup, we're the behind-the-scenes team delivering infrastructure and industrial services across New Zealand. We're looking for a motivated CCTV Trainee to join our Wellington team and learn the specialist skills involved in inspecting underground pipelines.
What's the Role?
As a CCTV Trainee, you'll work alongside experienced CCTV Operators, learning how to inspect underground pipelines using specialist camera equipment.
You'll be involved in setting up equipment, preparing work sites, assisting with pipeline inspections, recording information, and completing general operational and manual work. Over time, you'll develop the skills and experience to operate CCTV inspection equipment yourself.
This is a hands-on role with plenty of time outdoors and on different sites. If you're practical, reliable, and keen to learn a specialist trade, this could be a great place to start.
What Are We Looking For?
You don't need previous CCTV experience. We're looking for someone with the right attitude who is willing to learn and get stuck in.
You'll need:
A current driver's licence
Good physical fitness and willingness to undertake hands-on work
A reliable attitude and strong work ethic
Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
A genuine interest in learning a specialist skill
A strong commitment to health and safety
The following would be highly advantageous:
STMS qualification or experience in traffic management
Experience in drainage, civil construction, utilities, or infrastructure
Experience operating vehicles, plant, or specialist equipment
Previous CCTV, pipeline inspection, or related experience
What You'll Learn
CCTV pipeline inspection and recording
Operation and maintenance of specialist inspection equipment
Pipeline and drainage inspection techniques
Job setup and site safety requirements
Industry standards and inspection procedures
How to identify and record defects within underground assets
Why Join InterGroup?
Full training and support from experienced CCTV Operators
Learn a specialist skillset with genuine career progression
Varied work across different sites and projects
Permanent, full-time employment with a well-established company
Supportive team environment where you can learn on the job
If you're reliable, practical, and ready to learn something different, we'd like to hear from you.
